Developmental Assessments

For children 0-6 years

A developmental assessment is a consultative process that involves working in partnership with parents. At Children’s Voice Psychology developmental assessment is designed to deepen understanding of your child's competencies and learning environments so that each child is given the opportunity to fulfill his or her developmental potential.

The process involves gathering information from multiple sources:

  • observations of the child in a various play scenarios;
  • observations of parent-child interactions and other interactions;
  • interviews with parents and significant others in the child’s life;
  • assessment tools such as parent questionnaires

Children’s Voice Psychology believes in evaluating children on their capabilities (not deficits) and promotes approaches that build understanding of how children manage life in relation to their family, community and culture.
