Educational Assessments

Help unlock your child’s potential!

Educational psychology connects the disciplines of education and psychology. Based on theories of learning and development, educational psychologists have a specialised knowledge of what influences learning and how individual differences in learning can be supported in educational contexts.

The goal of an educational assessment is to gather information to help gain valuable insight into your child’s unique learning profile.

Children’s Voice Psychology educational assessments are structured to accommodate the individual learning needs of your child.

How will an Educational Assessment help my child?

Educational assessments help:

  • reveal children’s learning potential
  • identify the specific learning strategies to improve their learning effectiveness at school and home.
  • develop a child’s awareness of their unique learning style and strengths
  • parents make informed decisions about their child’s education

What does an Educational Assessment entail?

Given the individual differences among children, the educational assessment process needs to be uniquely tailored to their situation. During the initial 30 minute parent consultation, parents will be provided with information regarding the assessment options, reports and parent feedback.

Assessment options are based on the presenting concerns, recommendations will be made at the initial parent consultation session.  Parents have the opportunity to select the option best suited to their child’s needs.

The assessment process will involve:

  • Parent session one: 50 minute appointment with parents to gather developmental and any relevant medical history of the child
  • Child assessment sessions: Each session is 90 minutes and will be done on separate occasions
  • Parent Feedback session: 50 minute appointment is set aside to present the final written report and discuss recommendations with parents

What are the Fees?

As each child’s assessment is tailored to their specific needs the number of tests administered needed to address the presenting concern will vary.  Therefore, the cost will be quoted at your initial 30 minute consultation.

The cost of the initial 30 minute consultation appointment is $ 238.00.

Fees charged are in accordance with Australian Psychological Society’s recommended rates. An estimated cost of a full educational assessment is from $685.00.
